One of the most anticipated events - on a sporting and media level - by the people of the United States of America was renewed during the Italian night.

We are talking about the Superbowl, the challenge of challenges in American football which saw the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs oppose each other and which was played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, in front of thousands of spectators in the stands and millions of viewers connected worldwide.

In the stands were a myriad of VIPs: President Donald Trump, Apple's Tim Cook and tycoon Rupert Murdoch, rapper Jay-Z with his daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi and of course Taylor Swift , the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce , who, however, was greeted (much to her surprise) by the stadium crowd – mostly made up of Eagles supporters – with boos at every shot shown on the giant screen.

During the interval of the match, there was space for a performance by Kendrick Lamar who, flanked by Sze and Serena Williams (the tennis player who like him comes from Compton, California), launched a new attack on Drake, with the diss “Not Like Us”, a controversial track that accuses his rival of pedophilia.

This is for the “collective ritual”. The verdict on the field saw the Chiefs’ dream (for whom Trump was also rooting) of a consecutive three-peat at the Superbowl vanish: the Eagles, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, won 40 to 22.

For the Eagles it is the second victory, after the first trophy won in 2018, and also a revenge after the Chiefs defeated them in 2023 by 38 to 35.
