Shots fired outside CIA headquarters in Virginia

Tense moments outside the CIA headquarters in Langley , Virginia , where a man reportedly fired several shots and then barricaded himself inside the building.

The American media reported this, underlining that there is a strong police presence near the Agency's headquarters. Anti-bomb teams and snipers are also on site. As explained by the police, the shots outside the headquarters came from a man "in the throes of a nervous breakdown" who subsequently entered the building and "shouted threats". It is not clear whether he remained within the external perimeter or managed to elude security.

At the moment, pending updates, all roads are closed to traffic.
