According to preliminary reports, an eighteen-year-old was the author of the terrible shooting this morning at the State University of Perm, in Russia, which caused deaths and injuries.

According to local Russian newspapers, the young man is said to be a student of the university's law faculty, specializing in forensic science. Initially there was talk of his alleged death in the police raid to stop him, but the news was denied: "He is alive and in hospital," said the Russian Investigative Committee, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Before the shooting, the young man allegedly wrote a post on VKontakte - the Russian Facebook - in which he asked that his actions not be considered a terrorist act and claimed that he was not a member of any extremist organization. "I hate myself, but I want to hurt everyone who gets in my way," read the post. VKontakte then deleted the message.

"An unidentified person - the first message issued by law enforcement - entered the university building and opened fire. Some students locked themselves in the university auditoriums to hide from the attacker. Some students jumped out of the windows. ".

Six (and not eight, as previously reported) were the victims of the shooting, says the Russian Ministry of Health, taken up by TASS: "According to updated information from the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine, six people died in the accident at the Perm State University, while 24 injured people are receiving treatment ".
