The death toll from a shooting that took place in various locations in Tate County, Mississippi is six dead .

The killer - Richard Dale Crum, 52 - killed his ex-wife and five other people . The victims were killed in various locations, including a shop and two houses, in Arkabutla, a small rural community with fewer than 300 inhabitants. The relationship between the man and the other people killed has yet to be established.
After a short car chase, Crum was arrested by police on charges of multiple homicide. He was found in possession of three weapons and is currently speculated to have acted alone. The FBI is also dealing with the case.

There have been 73 fatal shootings in the United States since the beginning of 2023 . In an official statement, US President Joe Biden called for an end to the violence, condemning the shooting in Mississippi and recalling the need to reform the legislation on the sale of firearms with measures that "Congress could adopt at this time to save lives".
