Armed with an awl, a man this morning at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris stabbed six people before being arrested by police.

The attack was carried out at 6.45 am, the wounded suffered only minor injuries.

An off-duty agent was present on the spot who was the first to intervene, then helped by colleagues who opened fire on the attacker, immobilizing him and handcuffing him. The man is now hospitalized with a confidential prognosis, a bullet hit him in the chest.

The reasons for the gesture are unknown at the moment.
