Saman Abbas's uncle, Danish Hasnain, was arrested on the outskirts of Paris, one of the relatives accused of the murder of the 18-year-old Pakistani woman who disappeared from Novellara, in the Bassa Reggiana since 30 April.

The 33-year-old man, who fled from Italy on May 10, was blocked after a days-long shadowing by the French police in execution of a European arrest warrant and tracked down in collaboration with the carabinieri of the Reggio Emilia investigative unit.

According to Saman's little brother - never found but according to investigators murdered for having rebelled against a forced marriage in Pakistan - it was her uncle Danish who killed her.

THE ARREST - Hasnain, according to what we learn, was in an apartment in rue de Bastion, in the district of Garges-les-Gonesse, together with other compatriots unrelated to the Saman affair. It was identified thanks to the use of some social profiles, with users not attributable to him. When he was checked, he had no documents with him but would have been recognized and betrayed by a mole on his face.

Then the fingerprints were examined: "With the fingerprints the circle has come full circle, certain that it is he", explained the Reggio Emilia prosecutor Isabella Chiesi.

THE OTHER SURVEYS - Three other suspected relatives remain fugitives: the girl's parents, Shabbar Abbas and Nazia Shaheen, who fled to Pakistan; and a cousin, Nomanulhaq Nomanhulaq, wanted in Europe. It is possible that he too is in France.

In fact, the other cousin under investigation, Ikram Ijaz, was also in prison in Reggio Emilia after being captured and handed over to the Italian authorities on 9 June.

THE COMPARISON - The arrest of Hasnain, according to the prosecutor Chiesi, is "fundamental because it will allow us to have a version of the facts, as long as we want to give it, also indications on where Saman's body is". He will be in Italy in 7-10 days, he added, speaking of the hypothesis of "comparing the versions of events" of Hasnain and Ijaz. Based on the findings made on Hasnain, "we believe he was the mastermind of this crazy criminal project."
