The death toll from waves of Russian missiles and drones that struck Kiev on the night of July 1-2 has risen to 30. At least 91 people were injured, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kiev city military administration. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) added that search and rescue operations are underway in several areas , including a partially collapsed multi-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district. The death toll could therefore rise further .
"In Kiev, rescue operations are still underway in three places hit by last night's Russian attacks," President Zelensky said. " Rescuers have already managed to clear much of the rubble , but 10 people are still unresponsive . Search operations will continue for as long as necessary."
“Last night,” Zelensky continued, “the Russians attacked Kryvyi Rih, hitting the area of a regular residential complex with a shared garage. Seven people were injured . Residential buildings and two schools were damaged . During the night , a private home in the Kharkiv region was attacked. Six people were injured , three of them children. Yesterday afternoon, the Russians launched missile strikes against the regional hospital in Kherson. They knew exactly where to strike and that it made no sense from a military point of view. Unfortunately, a doctor died and a nurse was also injured . During the night, in the Sumy region, a drone attack on a skyscraper killed four people , including a mother and her daughter. My condolences to the family and loved ones.”
"Every day and every night," Zelensky concluded, "the Russians attack ordinary civilian infrastructure, and terror is the only argument they have left for not stopping the war . Reliable protection of the Ukrainian skies is a prerequisite for diplomacy. We count on the support of our partners, especially in the area of anti-ballistic defense. I am grateful to everyone who is already helping."
