In the thermal bag in which he put the food to be delivered, he hid a very ancient mummy.

The incredible episode took place in Peru, the discovery was made by the Puno police during a search of three young people "behaving like drunks" in a park.

One of these three, a 26-year-old boy, had a bag labeled "Pedidos Ya", a delivery app: "They found a mummy inside," explained police spokesman Marco Antonio Ortega.

The courier, who was later arrested on charges of crime against cultural heritage, did not seem too worried after the discovery: "Her name is Juanita and she is my spiritual fiancée," he told the agents. “I always carry her with me, at home, in my room, she even sleeps with me. I take care of her."

In reality, he could at best be called Juan, given that subsequent investigations have led to the belief that the mummy is an adult male between 600 and 800 years old, therefore in all probability dating back to the period preceding the discovery of America. The find was seized and is in the custody of the Ministry of Culture, which has classified it as a national cultural asset.

The discovery of a mummy in Peru, a country that is home to hundreds of archaeological sites, is certainly not great news. The novelty lies in the treatment that the 26-year-old had reserved for her.
