New Israeli raids on Rafah and at least 34 deaths in the last few hours in the Gaza Strip: this was reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa. But hopes of a truce are growing : Hamas has been offered "an extraordinarily generous proposal" which it should quickly grasp by making "the right decision".

The West, with the USA and GB in the lead , and several Arab states are therefore pressuring the Islamic faction to accept Israel's requests for the agreement: 40 days of truce expected, the release of "potentially thousands" of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons and the return of displaced people to northern Gaza, in exchange for the release of at least 33 Israeli hostages.

The Hamas delegation will return to Cairo with a written response to the proposed ceasefire in Gaza .
