The French-Algerian footballer Ishak Belfodil (ex Parma, Inter, Bologna and Livorno) arrested in Paris on charges of attempted murder.
According to reports from Le Parisien, the player - 31 years old - would have tried to strangle his 15-year-old younger sister during a furious quarrel.
The French newspaper explains that the girl has not yet filed a complaint.
Belfodil, who after an experience at Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga moved to Qatar to play for Al Gharafa, is said to be in custody at the Élancourt police station.
