The Tara Air plane with which they had lost contact in Nepal crashed. The wreck was found on a mountain at an altitude of around 3800-4000 meters, a difficult place to reach.

The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the twin-engine Twin Otter "suffered an accident" at 4,420 meters in the Sanosware area, in the rural municipality of Thasang, Mustang district, without providing further details.

It had taken off from Pokhara, in west-central Nepal, then radio contact was lost. It was headed for Jomsom.

At the moment, the bodies of the victims have already been recovered, while the operations made difficult by the weather conditions continue. There were 22 people on board : 19 passengers and three crew members.
