New bomb threat at the Palace of Versailles, evacuation is underway. “For security reasons, the Castle of Versailles is evacuating visitors and closing its doors today,” the institution announced on its X account.
The alert is the second in just a few days . Just last October 14, after a bomb threat published anonymously on the website moncommissariat.fr., the Louvre was also evacuated. All "not real" threats, the Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, then announced, who however spoke of "an evident atmosphere of jihadism, with people ready to take action" .
In France the tension is increasingly felt, especially after last Friday in Arras a twenty-year-old Chechen, Mohammed Mogouchkov, stabbed to death the teacher Dominique Bernard in a school, shouting Allah Akbar. In addition to the Chechen who killed the teacher and injured three other school employees, the entire family, known for years for the radicalization of everyone and in particular one of the brothers, already in prison for a planned attack against the Elysée.
At a limited meeting of the Macron government it was decided to pass the Vigipirate device to the highest level, "attack alert". This is why patrols in camouflage with machine guns slung over their shoulders have returned to Paris .
The maximum alert was ordered - with Operation Sentinels - for the first time in 2015 by the then president François Hollande, after the Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher massacres. There was then the mobilization of 10,000 soldiers, of which 3,000 from the reserve.
