The government in Israel that supports Benjamin Netanyahu is split and now the prime minister of the Jewish state is more than ever on the gridiron.
Minister Benny Gantz's "National Unity" party has in fact presented a bill to dissolve the Israeli Parliament and call early elections by October, one year after the October 7 massacre . The Israeli media reported it.
The bill to dissolve the 25th Knesset was presented by MP Pnina Tamno Sheta, president of "National Unity".
The party does not have the majority to dissolve the Knesset, as the Netanyahu coalition has the numbers to continue with his government. At least for now. In fact, Haaretz writes that there is a large split within the coalition and that the majority is therefore increasingly creaking.
Gantz himself, who is the minister of the War Cabinet for the conflict against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, in recent days had launched a sort of ultimatum to the prime minister : «You have to choose – he said – which plan to implement for Rafah, if you don't choose we will exit by the government."
