The toll of Russian soldiers who have died in Ukraine since the start of the war has surpassed the 50,000 mark : the count, in the second year of the war, was almost 25% higher than in the first.

The update, produced by BBC Russia and the independent media group Mediazona, shows that more than 27,300 Russian soldiers died in just the second year of fighting .

«The overall budget is 8 times higher than Moscow's official admission . And it is likely that the number is much higher ", writes the BBC, speaking of a "meat grinder strategy", i.e. the way in which Moscow sends waves of soldiers to advance relentlessly to try to wear down the Ukrainian forces.

Meanwhile, the Russian army launched three missile attacks this morning near Chernihiv, a city in northern Ukraine: there were civilians dead and many injured, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration said in a video on Telegram Viacheslav Chaus. Mayor Oleksandr Lomako said that infrastructure had been hit.

Yesterday the Ukrainian leader Zelensky returned to the topic of the importance of receiving air defense systems and missiles, then invoking China's intervention to restore international peace and stability.
