Methamphetamine in candy distributed for charity, recipients sought: "It could be lethal"

Alarm in New Zealand , where police said they recovered 29 methamphetamine tablets disguised as pineapple sweets and distributed to the public for charity.
A tragedy, at least for now, narrowly avoided: tests revealed that one of the candies contained approximately three grams of methamphetamine, a potentially lethal dose of this addictive drug.
The sweets had been donated anonymously to the anti-poverty charity Auckland City Mission and unintentionally distributed.
A criminal investigation has been launched as police try to track down up to 400 people who may have received the fake sweets .
Four people — two children, a teenager and a charity worker — have so far received medical attention after tasting the sweets, police said. None are in serious condition.
