Russian Ambassador to Rome Paramonov was received this morning at the Farnesina following the summons requested by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to protest Russian television host Vladimir Solovyov's offensive statements against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The Farnesina, as well as the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, expressed deep indignation at the "unacceptable insults directed at the Prime Minister."
For his part, Paramonov said that he had clearly dissociated himself from Solovyov's statements already last night and had made this clear several times during the meeting in response to requests.
