Discussions opened on social media after some English tabloids published the news of the discovery of a report card of Sarah Ferguson, ex-wife of Prince Andrew, third son of Queen Elizabeth and younger brother of the current King Charles III.

The report card in question was found in a locker at the school attended by the Duchess of York, now 64 years old and an established writer. But according to the Mirror it seems she didn't excel as a student. On the contrary. In the exams at the end of compulsory school, attended in an elite college, he achieved only a good mark (in the English exam), accompanied by a low passing grade in art. However, the results in English literature, biology, French and geography were bad, if not very bad.

However, Ferguson would not be the only one in the English royal family to have had some problems with academic performance. Camilla, Charles' queen consort, decided to leave her studies at 16 and the sovereign himself, in his high school exam, did well in history, but only obtained a passing grade in French. Nonetheless, he was still admitted to Cambridge, where he graduated with the lowest grade.

Even the "rebel" Prince Harry was not a model student, so much so that he preferred the military academy to university. Ditto his mother Diana Spencer, who left compulsory school without qualifications.

It seems that Prince William also intended not to graduate: he enrolled at the Scottish University of St Andrews in 2001, starting to study History of Art, the same course as his future wife Kate. Regretting the choice he had made, he wanted to give up, but it was Kate herself who advised him to continue but change his course of study. And so the heir to the throne eventually graduated in 2005 – with honors – in Geography.
