«Today humanity finds itself once again, as many times in the past, at a crossroads. It depends only on us how the story will evolve. It is in our common interest to avoid precipitating a major war and the eventual collapse of international cooperation. Mechanisms put in place by generations of our predecessors."

This is the warning launched by Russian Foreign Minister Serghiei Lavrov at the UN general assembly.

In his speech Lavrov also pointed the finger at Western nations. "The West is trying to Ukrainianize the international agenda," he accused, explaining that the US and its allies continue "the militarization of the Russophobic Kiev regime."

The head of Moscow's diplomacy then asked Western politicians to «read the UN Charter, remembering the principle of equal sovereignty of countries whether large or small, while the USA thinks it is better than all the others, and the EU thinks it is a garden in bloom and everything else is a jungle."
