The two Iranian journalists of the "Amini case", who reported the death of the young Mahsa, are free after 17 months in prison . Outside the prison - where friends and relatives were waiting for them - Evin showed themselves without hijab , with their heads uncovered and their hands as a sign of victory. The photos, which appeared on social media, prompted the Iranian judiciary to open a new case against them. The release (temporary, until the Court of Appeal session) took place on bail of 100 billion rials, over 200 thousand euros.
Hamedi, 36, a photojournalist for the reformist newspaper Shargh, and Mohammadi, 31, a reporter for the reformist newspaper Ham-Mihan, were sentenced in October to 13 and 12 years in prison respectively, but according to the law Hamedi will serve seven and Mohammadi six.
They were accused of " connection with a hostile state (the United States)", "collection and collusion against national security" and "propaganda against the system".
