The general manager of a bank branch in Qom, Iran's second sacred city, was fired by the local governor general for receiving a woman with her head uncovered.

This is what the deputy governor general of the city Ahmad Hajizadeh said.

The decision was made after videos circulated on social media showed a woman without a headscarf behind a bank counter , added Hajizadeh, quoted by Mehr.

The Central Bank of Iran has forced Iranian bank branches not to provide services to women who do not wear the mandatory hijab, established by law after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
