The front of the Republicans is widening in view of the presidential elections in the USA in 2024. His candidacy in the primaries for the Grand Old Party is announced by the mayor of Miami, the Cuban-American Francis Suarez, the first Hispanic in the primaries of both sides .

The same age as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the mayor was elected for the first time in 2017 with a plebiscite, 86% of the vote, and the second time in 2021 with 79%. Married to Gloria, event organizer and entrepreneur, two children, he presents himself as an old-fashioned Republican, à la Ronald Reagan. He attacked DeSantis, with whom he hasn't spoken in months, for his battle against Disney accusing him of burning thousands of jobs for "a personal vendetta" and distanced himself on Trump's classified papers, for which he said he did not having voted in 2020: "He shouldn't have done it, I would have returned them".

Among his dreams, that of bringing Silicon Valley to Miami and, during the Covid pandemic, he became the darling of many industry insiders who moved to his city. Critics accuse him of being more interested in lecturing around the United States than in serious problems facing Miami such as skyrocketing house prices.
