Tragic accident at Icon Park in Orlando, Florida, where a 14-year-old boy lost his life after falling from a carousel.

The tragedy took place under the eyes of dozens of witnesses, who filmed the terrible scene while they were intent on filming the attraction.

The accident, which took place on Thursday evening, on the tallest amusement park tower in the world, the Free Fall: a carousel present in various amusement parks, including Italian ones, which usually brings passengers very slowly to a height of about 130 meters , then plummeting at high speed, braking at the right moment, just before touching the ground.

The accident occurred during the braking phase of the merry-go-round, with the young man slipping away from the post, falling tumbling to the ground, amid the screams of those present.

The immediate help and the transfer to the hospital were worth nothing: there was nothing more to do for the 14-year-old.

The company that manages the park said it was working together with the authorities to determine the exact dynamics of what happened, and ascertain causes and responsibilities.

"Our hearts go out to this boy's family," said the facility's marketing director.

The attraction will remain closed until a later date. Unfortunately, this is not the first tragedy for the Icon Park. In September 2020, a 21-year-old boy died during a security check at the entrance to the StarFlyer attraction.
