In Germany, according to exit polls by public television station ARD, the far-right Alternative fuer Deutschland (AFD) triumphed in Saxony-Anhalt with a result of 44.5% for its candidate Ulrich Siegmund.

Outgoing Minister-President Sven Schulze of the CDU is expected to receive 18.5%. According to ARD exit polls, the Greens are expected to enter the Saxony-Anhalt parliament with 9% and Sahra Wagenkneckt's BSW party is expected to receive 5% (the electoral threshold). The Left Party is expected to receive 9.5% and the Social Democrats are expected to receive 8%. The Liberals are expected to receive 2%.
