They ran away from home and drove their mother's car for 230 km.
The protagonists are two little brothers, he is 10 and she is 11, in the United States: the children, angry with their mother who had taken away the little girl's cell phone as punishment, got into the car and sped through the streets of Florida at full speed.
They were intercepted on Interstate 75, near Gainesville, by a police patrol who, thinking they had found the thieves of the car, ordered them to stop, leveling their weapons and ordering the passengers to get out: then the shock, when they saw that at the wheel and on the passenger side there were two children.
The mother had reported the car stolen and her children missing four hours earlier in North Port, a city in the southwest of the Sunshine state. The two little fugitives told the agents that the girl was upset and that her brother had offered to take her to California.
According to investigators, there was no evidence that they had been abused by their mother or anyone else in the family. The little ones then returned home.
