Images of former first lady Fabiola Yáñez with a swollen face are making the rounds on social media, sparking anger and indignation.
The news portal Infobae released them, having had exclusive access to the photos and chats that appear in the court file of the case for gender violence filed by the woman against former Peronist president Alberto Fernandez, predecessor of the current ultra-liberal leader Javier Milei. The violence allegedly occurred in August 2021, at the height of the Covid pandemic, according to Infobae.
In the images, the woman has a black eye, purple bruises and hematomas on her arm and face. And there are also the conversations attached to the trial in which she blames the former head of state for the violence , with whom she had a son during the presidential mandate, which began in 2019 and ended in 2023.
“This doesn’t work, you hit me all the time,” Yáñez wrote in WhatsApp messages to Fernandez. “You hit me again. You’re crazy,” reads another chat, in which the woman attaches a photo of her completely black eye.
The former president has been banned from leaving the country. He defends himself: "It's all false and I will prove it in court."
