A fire has broken out in the large shopping center Mega Khimki , north-west of Moscow: the entire structure was engulfed in flames, which spread over an area of 18,000 square meters.

This was reported by the Russian news agency Tass, which quotes a source of the relief efforts.

As far as we know , there is one victim : «Unfortunately, one person was killed. Work is underway to put out the fire,” said Emergencies Ministry department head Sergey Poletykin.

According to the Russian emergency services, the fire may have been caused by a "criminal" act .
