Texas confirms itself as a stronghold of Trumpism and conservatism and, after the restrictive abortion law , also approves a rule that obliges transgender students to compete in teams that correspond to the gender with which they were registered at birth and not the one in which identify themselves.
The US State Senate passed an ad hoc law, after the House of the State Assembly also gave its green light and now the measure has landed on the desk of the - Republican - Governor Greg Abbott.
Banning transgenders from competing in women's sports or teams is one of the "crusades" carried out by former President Donald Trump. But, as in the case of abortion, associations for the defense of civil rights have risen, also defining this law as discriminatory and liberticidal.
