Nessy Guerra, a woman from Sanremo and mother of a three-year-old girl, has been convicted for adultery for the second time in Egypt following a complaint filed by her Italian-Egyptian ex-husband, Tamer Hamouda.

Guerra was found guilty in the first instance on February 19th, and the appeal verdict has now been handed down, essentially upholding the initial conviction. The judge handed down a six-month sentence. The announcement was made by the woman's lawyer in Italy, Agata Armanetti, who received the news this morning from the Italian consulate in Egypt.

Nessy Guerra has been in forced exile in Egypt for two years to avoid leaving behind her little daughter, whom her ex-husband is preventing her from bringing to Italy.
