Alessandro Di Battista's partner, Sahra Lahouasnia, has arrived in the Cuban capital, Havana, where the former Five Star Movement MP has been hospitalized in serious condition since Saturday at the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" hospital after falling ill following a severe headache.
A medical team from the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome has also arrived in Cuba, ready to provide medical care. The former parliamentarian, now a journalist, is still being assessed to determine whether he can afford a medical flight back to Italy.
Yesterday, a post appeared on Di Battista's social media—which continues to receive messages of support and solidarity from the political world and beyond—which read: "I'll do my best to come back."
