41 KFOR soldiers, including 11 Italians, were injured in the serious clashes between NATO troops and Serbian demonstrators in Zvecan, in northern Kosovo.

Of the 11 wounded Italians, three are serious but not life threatening: they would have suffered burns and fractures.

There have been violent clashes in Zvecan, in the north of Kosovo, between Serb demonstrators who contest the new mayor of Albanian ethnicity, and the soldiers of Kfor, a NATO mission. The military made extensive use of batons, tear gas and sound bombs. The demonstrators responded with a heavy throwing of stones, bottles and other objects.

Some of the wounded Italian soldiers were hit by Molotov cocktails or other incendiary devices.

The Defense and Minister Guido Crosetto express "closeness and wish a speedy recovery to the Italian, Hungarian and Moldovan NATO KFOR soldiers who were injured in the clashes in Kosovo". The Ministry of Defense writes it on Twitter.
