The Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, was discharged from the Vila Nova Star hospital in Sao Paulo, where he had been hospitalized for two days for an intestinal obstruction.

The announcement was made by the head of state himself on social media.

"Discharge now. Thank you all. I can do everything in the one who gives me strength", wrote Bolsonaro, also adding a photo alongside the medical team who took care of him.

The right-wing leader was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Monday after suffering severe abdominal pain while on vacation on the coast of Santa Catarina. After routine examinations, the need for surgery was ruled out.

Bolsonaro had already spent four days at the Vila Nova Star in July 2021 due to another intestinal obstruction, a frequent disorder for him and consequent to the stab he received in 2018 during the election campaign.
