Biden: "You can't only love your country when you win"
The outgoing president comments on the defeat of Harris and the Democrats: «I told Trump that the transition will be peaceful»

"We cannot give up. We have lost this battle, defeats are inevitable, but giving up is unthinkable." So said Joe Biden , in his speech to comment on Donald Trump 's re-election to the White House and the defeat of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris , who entered the race to replace him after his decision to step back and not run for a second term.
"I told Donald Trump that my team will ensure a peaceful transition ," Biden explained, stressing that "the will of the voters always prevails and we must accept the choice made by the country. "The American electoral system," Biden continued, "is honest, fair and transparent and on January 20, we will have a peaceful transfer of power."
As for defeat, " you can't love your country only when you win" and "you can't love your neighbor only when you agree." Therefore - Biden concluded - it is necessary that Americans "regardless of who they voted for, manage to stop looking at each other as adversaries."
