The man who today entered a bank in downtown Beirut, taking clients and employees hostage, was arrested after 6 hours of negotiations. Arms in hand, he asked to get his money back, over 200 thousand euros. A gesture underlying the exasperation and anger of the people who in Lebanon for three years have had to give up their savings that evaporated in the bankruptcy of 2019.

Bassam Hussein released all the hostages and, with t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops on his feet, handed himself over to the police, apparently after reaching an agreement with the bank for the return of 30 thousand dollars.
