The specter of Islamist terrorism haunts Europe again. And, with it, that of ISIS, the Islamic State which in recent years has sown death in numerous nations of the Old Continent and beyond.

ISIS itself claimed responsibility for the attack carried out the day before yesterday in Belgium , in Brussels, in which two Swedish citizens died.

«An Islamic State fighter attacked two Swedish citizens – we read in a statement published by Amaq, the terrorist group's network. The note adds that «Sweden ended up in the crosshairs because it was present in the Coalition against ISIS».

The fighter referred to is Abdesalem Lassoued , a Tunisian citizen, who arrived on EU territory by landing in Lampedusa in 2011 on board a small boat. He subsequently reached Sweden, from where he was expelled.
