Steve Bannon showed up at the Washington FBI offices after being indicted for contempt of Congress.

Donald Trump's former strategist has denied his collaboration with the House commission investigating the attack on Capitol Hill last January 6.

His appearance in court is expected today.

Bannon has two counts on his shoulders: one for not testifying, the other for not delivering the documents requested of him, justifying his refusal with the fact that Trump invoked executive privilege on the acts of his presidency.

"We will always fight the Joe Biden regime," Bannon said, looking straight into the cameras as he turned in the FBI. "I want you guys to stay focused on the message. This is all noise," he added.

Bannon will not be detained but will remain on a sort of probation before trial, the judge he presented to decided. The first hearing is set for Thursday. The former White House strategist has been subjected to some restrictions: passport delivery, weekly control of pre-detention services, information on movements outside the district.
