Artemis II astronaut: "The crew feels pretty good up here."

"The crew is feeling pretty good up here, en route to the Moon," astronaut Jeremy Hansen said during NASA's livestream of the Artemis II mission.

The Canadian citizen, the first non-American to reach the Moon, said he "distinctly felt the strength" of perseverance required to undertake this mission.

"Humanity has once again demonstrated what it is capable of," he said. After the press conference, NASA's website reports, the excited astronauts took tons of photos, so many that the spacecraft's windows were stained: "The crew was glued to the windows."

Artemis left Earth's orbit around 2 a.m. Italian time.
