False alarm in Capitol Hill, the seat of the US Congress in Washington, which the police evacuated due to an unspecified "air threat".

The police, explained the police, "monitor an aircraft that represents a potential threat to the Capitol complex".

Shortly thereafter, however, the same police made it known that there was no threat and that the Capitol "was evacuated out of an abundance of caution". And the buildings once again welcomed the parliamentarians and their collaborators.

Police did not provide further details, but NBC correspondent Garret Haake said that some paratroopers from the "Army Golden Knights" team practicing in nearby Washington Nationals Park Stadium triggered the false alarm.

“Maybe they didn't inform the Capitol Hill police that they would be in their airspace. A policewoman told me she saw a small airplane that seemed to be spinning around before the paratroopers jumped.
