38 people have been sentenced to death by an Indian court for the series of attacks in 2008 in Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat, which cost the lives of 56 people.

In the afternoon of July 26, 14 years ago, at least 16 bombs were detonated, in the space of 36 minutes, among the people, in the center of the capital of the Indian state with the highest concentration of Muslim population.

What was striking then, in addition to the terrible gesture attributed to terrorist groups, was the particular cruelty with which the bombs were designed and placed, with the clear intention of hitting a good number of civilians: one was placed on a bicycle near a hospital, others on a bus, in a metal box for food, still others in bags near other health facilities.

On February 8, the court sentenced 49 people for the attacks.
