After Ita , Volotea is also considering continuing to operate on the routes linking Sardinian airports to the main Italian airports at the end of the current period of territorial continuity.

The company, "before announcing the Cagliari-Rome Fiumicino route even at the end of the current continuity regime", underlines the low cost, "is analyzing the data on the routes operated to and from Sardinia in recent months and evaluating which others connections could be operated in the same period between the island's airports and the main Italian airports ”.

A note that comes 24 hours after those in which Ita announced its willingness to fly over the skies of the island without economic compensation.

Volotea, in particular, confirms that it intends to continue investing in Sardinia and expresses “great satisfaction by noting how the Sardinian market has become increasingly attractive. Proof of this is the recent announcement of the interest of another airline available to operate connections from the main airports of the island to Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate ".

The low cost company, which has been operating on the island since 2012, claims to have "immediately sensed the great potential of Sardinia" and remembers having inaugurated its base in Cagliari in 2019, followed by that of Olbia in 2021 for a total of 120 jobs created.
