The toto-Quirinale comes alive. The Speaker of the Chamber Roberto Fico summoned the Parliament in joint session on January 24 to start the voting.

And the bookmakers go wild. According to betting analysts, the number one favorite is Mario Draghi. Oddsdealer.net, provider of odds for international bookmakers, is the current Prime Minister at 1.90.

Behind her the one who is most likely to become the first woman at the Quirinale, the current Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia, quoted at 2.50. Long-term Christian Democrats follow such as Pier Ferdinando Casini at 5 and Paolo Gentiloni at 7.

The President of the Senate Maria Elisabetta Casellati pays 10.50 times the post. Behind him is Silvio Berlusconi, the "official" name of the center-right which according to bookmakers does not have much hope: it is quoted at 15.

Behind the leader of Forza Italia, his former right-hand man in Palazzo Chigi Gianni Letta, quoted at 22. Followed by Marcello Pera and 23 and Anna Finocchiaro, who pays the post 27 times.

Former premier Romano Prodi and Giuliano Amato are both listed at 30, then Paola Severino at 32 and Dario Franceschini at 37.

Three women close at 40: Letizia Moratti, Emma Bonino and Rosy Bindi.
