After three ministers tested positive for the coronavirus - and are on the mend - there is some controversy over the security procedures in place in the political buildings, especially in view of the election of the President of the Republic.

Luigi Di Maio, according to what we learn, has already been negativized, the other two are Federico D'Incà (minister for relations with the Parliament) and Vittorio Colao (minister for technological innovation and digital transition), but the infected parliamentarians they would be about thirty.

So will the measures that the Chamber will take to drastically reduce the risks of contracting Covid be sufficient? Among the hypotheses under consideration are the entrance to Montecitorio with the Ffp2 mask; voting through the staggering of parliamentarians; the increase in the number of "bieres" that is the booths in which you vote, by removing the fabric curtains.

Sabino Cassese, a constitutionalist, supported the proposal by Stefano Ceccanti, a deputy to the Democratic Party, to have the senators vote separately in Palazzo Madama and then scrutinize all the ballots together with the Chamber.

A second order of problems concerns the exclusion from the vote of Sardinian and Sicilian deputies who do not have the Super Green pass and therefore cannot travel on ferries and planes to reach Rome. At that point, as proposed by Osvaldo Napoli (Coraggio Italia), if the number of parliamentarians affected by the impediment did not allow to reach the quorum of 505 votes from the fourth ballot, an appeal could be made to Mattarella "to remain in his office" with a "postponement to a later date".
