An hour of thrills celebrating the Legend. The presentation of the second edition of the Gigi Riva Trophy, the friendly between Cagliari and Nice scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 pm at the Unipol Domus , took place in the multimedia room of L'Unione Sarda. Hosted by journalists Mariangela Lampis of Videolina and Lele Casini of Radiolina, the program alternated between historic images of the champion from Leggiuno (with clips from the Videolina archives) and memories of the past, both from current protagonists and those who were with the Legend during the historic championship season.
Representing Cagliari were captain Alessandro Deiola , CEO and general manager Stefano Melis , scouting member Roberto Muzzi , and Nicola Riva , the son of the Legend. Three Rossoblu legends also appeared: Mario Brugnera, Renato Copparoni, and Beppe Tomasini . The screen flashed images from the era, while the players shared their personal memories of the Legend and introduced Saturday's match, which will feature a comprehensive pre-match program (starting at 6:30 p.m.) with a rich series of dedicated initiatives and live radio commentary on Radiolina.
"We'll try to honor Gigi's memory in the best way possible, and we'll approach it like an official match," said Rossoblu captain Deiola. "It's a very important match for us, because of the value it represents in Gigi's memory. It will also be wonderful to be able to welcome our fans back: we can't wait to get on the pitch."
