On this day of the epiphany, Christianity remembers the moment when the Magi, after a long journey, reached the hut of Jesus. According to the Gospel of Matthew: "Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, at the time of King Herod. Some Magi they came to Jerusalem from the east and asked: Where is the king of the Jews who was born? We have seen his star rise. "

More than 2,000 years ago, three astronomer-astrologers set out from the lands of Mesopotamia to meet the King of the Jews. Following a star, they came to the hut in Bethlehem and gave them their gifts to the child Jesus. Is there therefore an astronomical foundation that can confirm what has happened? What star could the Magi have followed? Could this spectacular astronomical event of the time shed light on the year of Christ's birth?

To try to give a possible answer to these questions, the Planetarium of the Unione Sarda has set a unique appointment for today 6 January at 19:30, where, going back 2000 years, we will go to look for the famous Star of Bethlehem.
