"We are against a surreptitious introduction of rules that can quickly resolve the issue of bathers and street vendors. It is a very delicate issue that cannot be tackled by inserting a rule at the last minute. It takes time and we have to wait".

This was stated by the national coordinator of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of an electoral meeting in Naples.

The Draghi government has already been studying a draft law on competition for several months, including the tender for beach concessions, part of the "enabling" reforms of the Recovery Plan. Standard for which the leader of the Lega Matteo Salvini has already expressed his opposition.

The former president of the European Parliament added: "We are opposed to immediately liberalizing a sector that instead must have more time to organize itself".

Finally, Tajani underlined that "on the extension of the concessions concerning the street vendors, there are serious problems on the application of the Bolkestein, so we do not like the hypothesis that someone intends to include this issue in the next decisions of the government on competition".
