While there are new cases of swine fever in Piedmont and Liguria , Fratelli d'Italia returns to ask for the removal of the embargo on the products of the Sardinian pig sector.

A motion will be presented in every Sardinian municipality where Fdi is represented inviting, if approved, the Draghi government to make itself heard in Brussels to have the embargo lifted.

"For three years now, swine fever has been eradicated and the depopulation of wild pigs continues unabated", reads the statement from the party led by Giorgia Meloni.

For this reason it is requested that the island be removed from the blacklist.

In recent days, Coldiretti Sardinia had also stated that the island is a safe territory, without an outbreak for four years, and had appealed to Governor Christian Solinas to write to the Minister of Health and the European Union to definitively take note of this reality, unlocking the possibility of exporting pork reared in Sardinia.
