«Sardinia responded to energy speculation and sent a clear message: we will no longer accept being trampled on or considered as a second-class region». This was declared by the governor of Sardinia Alessandra Todde after the unanimous green light, in the State-Regions Conference , to the text of the Decree of the Ministry of the Environment on suitable areas , with the rules for identifying the areas in which to create new installations of systems for generating energy from renewable sources.

«We fought – underlined Todde after the agreement – to obtain a decree on suitable areas that responded to Sardinia's prerogatives. We have obtained that Sardinia defines how to obtain authorizations and how to locate wind and photovoltaic plants in our territory to comply with the quota of 6.2 GW, without being subjected to the decisions of others and of the national government . And we have also obtained - continued the governor - the recognition of the fact that any offshore wind farm placed off the coast of our island affects Sardinia as it impacts its economy, fishing and tourism . Sardinia's commitment will therefore be considered entirely."

«Sardinia will finally be able to decide what its energy destiny should be: there will no longer be any authorizations that will pass over our heads. Any authorization will be decided and given by the offices of the Region, clearly consulting the Municipalities, the territories and the citizens" , Todde highlighted again.

«I want to thank the team that worked on this result, a strong and cohesive team, made up of my councilors for the environment, industry, culture, agriculture, urban planning, the general secretary and the legislative offices who worked day and night to overcome years of inertia that forced us to rush to achieve this result.

I thank the Committees, those who are defending Sardinia, all those who made proposals and fought . The bill that suspends the installations proposed by the council will continue its journey in the Regional Council and will be necessary both to manage the few authorizations already given and to build/compose/define the Sardinian decree of suitable areas in 180 days", concludes Todde .
