Last Sunday, Selargius defeated Cannonau Jerzu Picchi 2-1, with a late goal from defender Ganzerli, but the victory was overturned by the Sports Judge. The Granata were awarded a 0-3 defeat by default, due to the use of a non-registered player, in the match on the seventh day of Group A of the Promotion League .
The reason, explained in the latest press release, is related to the position of the player Leonardo Carcangiu. Listed as the number 9 on the team sheet, as a starter, he was booked in the 52nd minute. Following the disciplinary action, a check by the Membership Office was automatically triggered—as with all players receiving a yellow card. The investigation revealed that Carcangiu was not a regular Selargius player on the date of the match, October 19th .
For this reason, Selargius saw their victory slip away and was awarded a 0-3 defeat by default, in addition to a €100 fine. Federico Cocco's team thus slipped from 15 to 12 points, still in fourth place, tied by Cannonau Jerzu Picchi, who made a significant leap forward from twelfth place . On Sunday, the latter host Samugheo, while Selargius hosts Arborea.
