Fifty million euros. It is the money that the Region, through the words of president Christian Solinas, is considering allocating to Sardinian football for an improvement - which can no longer be postponed - of the facilities. «I applaud this initiative: it is a cry of alarm that we have launched for some time», the comment of the president of the Sardinia Regional Committee Gianni Cadoni in the Christmas episode of the Radiolina program “L'Imformatore Sportivo”. «I have not yet had any communications on the matter: I know that an amendment has been approved and I hope that the modernization and safety of our stadiums can soon become a reality. In every Sardinian town there is a football field, but in many areas they are dusty or inadequate." From Assemini to Muravera, passing through Villacidro, Carbonia and the absurd case of Quartu Sant'Elena: there are many important municipalities on the island, most of them in the South, which have had problems with their fields. With the need to modernize other facilities which, Cagliari first and foremost with the new stadium issue but not only, host national championships (see Olbia and Torres, but also Serie D clubs).

A necessity. Among the main cases of Sardinian clubs that have had problems with the stadiums is COS Sarrabus-Ogliastra, which until 2022 was Muravera and then moved to Tertenia, changing its name and headquarters. «An organized club, which is doing very well», Cadoni's praise - speaking on the program hosted by Lorenzo Piras - for the vice-leaders of Group G of Serie D. «They had to move, not without some controversy. It has a roster of players with many Sardinians and is making itself appreciated everywhere, even with the youth sector." With them other realities, from Tempio to Nuoro to talk about just some municipalities in the regional championships: «I have been mentioning Selargius for years and Sant'Elena for some time. We need to be able to renovate all our regional systems, I hope that this announcement can see a definitive path forward with any future administration. Football is something for everyone: our mission is also social", concludes Cadoni.
