Sardinian farmers in the trenches: sprint on aid, "but there are those who won't see a single euro"
The councilor: «Over 170 million unblocked». The associations: «Too many are left behind»The Region announces a major acceleration in the always very slow payments to farmers, a sprint that even places Sardinia in fourth place in Italy for spending efficiency (after Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Lombardy), but a strong wind of protest is blowing from the fields: " Three thousand companies have not seen a cent , it is unacceptable. An extraordinary intervention is needed ", thunders Coldiretti. " We live in uncertainty, many companies are in great difficulty ", underlines Confagricoltura.
The Councillor for Agriculture Gian Franco Satta explained yesterday that «from last September to today there has been a doubling of payments, with the disbursement of over 170 million euros , resources that will allow the sector to have a breath of fresh air».
"We take note of the data on payments, but it is not enough: it is unacceptable that 3 thousand companies to date have not received even a cent ", the words of Battista Cualbu and Luca Saba , president and director of Coldiretti Sardegna, who wrote to the Region. " About 19 million euros are still blocked , which we ask to be liquidated as soon as possible".
Great dissatisfaction also from Confagricoltura . «The financial exposure of thousands of companies , caused by the delay in payments, is reaching worrying levels », warns the president Stefano Taras. «At the root of the delays is the new National Soil Charter – he continues – with a short circuit between community norms, national implementation discipline and application by the national body Agea Coordinamento, which penalizes above all the areas of Nuorese and central Sardinia, Ogliastra, Gallura, Sarrabus, Sulcis Iglesiente, Goceano and Monte Acuto».
