A "cloned" postal account and the need for intervention to restore security conditions. This is the content of a phone call received from a 26-year-old from San Sperate which led to the "disappearance" of 2,800 euros.

The young man turned to the police who started the investigation and identified, in collaboration with his Neapolitan colleagues, four Neapolitans: two men and two women.

According to the military, they were the ones who called the 26-year-old and, posing as Italian Post Office operators, passing the communication to each other by saying "I'll give you my colleague", convinced the scammer of the validity of the phone call.

They explained to him that his postal account had probably been cloned so he would have to click on a link received via email to change his credentials. Which the young man did, seeing the substantial sum stolen from him.

The four were reported for aggravated fraud.
